Flying At Blanchard

April 26, 2003

Buddies

This was a day that Willy called and said,"Looks a little iffy but we can try to meet ASAP around 1:30. Sure enough, Conrad and Ben were in the LZ waiting and Willy was right behind. We piled in the truck heading for the top.

Ready...Launch!

We got ready as fast as possible. Brian was already in the air when we arrived. Soon, we were all launching from the top of the west launch. It seemed to be stablizing but we got up to 500 ft over very quick. It was time to go to Chuchanut Mountain. What an easy time crossing, as the wind had receded.

Ben Toward Bellingham
It was great. This was over Chuchanut.

Konrad over Chuchanut
Konrad did a few nice turns to get this. Thanks for getting close.

Eagles
At one time, there were 4 mature and 1 young bald circling around below me. They were close enough that I can see their heads turning to have a look around. Not a single talon shown.

Konrad again
smoothing air towards the evening!
